I was under the impression that only later discos were fitted with EDC with the fly by wire go pedal etc ,but my mates Dec 95 auto has EDC but my August 96 manual hasn't !
Checked the chassis numbers and mines defiantly a later build. Was mine built from old parts left over or was it only autos fitted with EDC i wonder?

Only autos 1996MY onwards have EDC.... so you would not have it fitted as standard what ever side your steering wheel is on :).

That's as maybe. I purchased the Swiss imported discovery with 20k kms on it. Maybe it could be related to the incredibly strict emissions hear in CH.

Maybe, could be, but for the UK spec LR didn't fit EDC to the manual as it would have giving a performance advantage over the auto, the reason EDC was fitted in the first place to the auto was to bring the autos performance inline with the manual, although it did also improve refinement and emission levels.

I will dig deeper with my local Swiss landy man. I must say, she runs nicely. It would not surprise me if it was a standard item for Swiss imports. This place is pretty rough on emissions, and MOTs. They lift every car, and any oil means a fail!!! It is a land rover FFS.
