well you dont really give us much to go on... any fault messages come up at all?? i had a gearbox fault a few months ago and it went into limp home mode and i was standing on the accelerator and still not much was happening as it was in 3rd gear all the time.

if no fault messages has it slowly been getting worse or what?? any smoke??

-Wills :)

First things to check : dirty air filter or turbo hoses that may be collapsing/breaking up inside.

no messages are displayed or come up.
no smoke.
gears seem to shift fine.
new air filter.
will check hoses.
accelarates fine when moving.
problem only from standstill.

cheers

Sounds a little like mine, only diff is mine happens only occasionally, and only when re-started hot, and the check engine light comes on. If I try pulling away like that then a snail is faster.

Does yours happen every time?

no not all the time.
first thing in the morning is bad
and then randomly occurs.
seems to be gettin worse tho... more consistent...

i luv range rovers!!!!!!!

Sounds like a fueling issue, or a mapping issue for the Turbo. My guess is the ECU is not fueling at the right level when the engine is cold.
How many miles has it done?

it is a 1998 and has done 106k.

it has been pampered and money thrown at it.

where can i get the mapping/ecu sorted?

cheers

Hi ...
If You Don't Have The Workshop Manuel .. You Can Find It In This Site Somewhere .. I Think On Page 2 In The Forum ..there You Can Find The Mapping/ecu Sorted .

Regards .

My dad had exactly the same problem on a diesel merc a few years ago, turned out that the fuel filter was completely gunged up.
May be worth a try
