Them looks like airing down to 20psi lanes to me Steve, better get the coopers flexing a likkle to get through the soft bits.

Slowly and gently :) we'll be there to guide you.
It really is great fun...not as much as this but I don't want to ruin my truck.....

You'l be fine, as the others have said it' all fairly gentle terrain round there. I drove strata the day before new years eve last year, that was an adventure- river up over the bonnet in places!
As for pay and play I'm up for that too, Slindon Safari has a good rep and is fairly local, there's also a place up the A23 near Hickstead and I think there is somewhere near East Grinstead too.

I'm up for a pay day if it's not a mud bath. I have too many holes in the floor panels (bolt holes not rust luckily) for mud and deep water.

That looks like it'll test me, but I'd love to have a go at something of that level ! :D
If you want to get some great tuition to build confidence I can highly recommend booking a 2 hour session with the guys at TrueGrip Offroad in kent. www.truegrip-offroad.co.uk/
I've been there 2 times now. First time I had an hour with an instructor in their Mitsubishi 4x4 and then had an hour with the same instructor in my Defender. It was awesome to learn what it could do and built a lot of confidence. 2nd time I went on their mud tracks to experience grip and sliding and gave my dad an hour with the instructor which he loved too. He's driven all sorts of kit but hadn't done anything like the slopes on the course.
You can make a package deal with them and its always 1:1 tuition so you are driving for the whole time. Don't book just 1 hour though as it's not enough to enjoy it.

I was looking at Hogden Lane, Wolvens Lane, crockers Lane, green lane, Sheepwalk lane to start, all open, have checked Surrey CC list and trailwise, drove them all end of Nov. Will check trailwise for the other lanes I have in mind for later in the day when I get a moment but I'm fairly sure they're ok.

OK I've just checked the other lanes I have in mind, and they all seem to be free of TROs etc- looking at A couple of lanes around Frensham ponds and then a couple above the Hindhead tunnel. Depending on time I might return home via Chichester and the A27 as there are about 3 lanes there I've wanted to check out in a while- anyone who wants to join me is of course more than welcome!

@DaveyGTi Thanks for coordinating this trip. Would it be possible to supply OS refs for the lanes we plan to visit? It would be nice to see where I am going! Looking forward to this, been quite a while since I've been laning. I'll probably be taking the A27 east so might tag along.

The AccuWeather forecast for the 27th is cold and sunny with light rain two days prior...

It seems I've stopped getting email notifications for this thread otherwise would have replied sooner. I was planning on doing a gpx file of the route this weekend and sharing it out, might be easier than a whole series of 6fig grid refs!
I don't have a CB but I do have a walkie talkie so was going to bring that- presumably I can talk to CBs on that- or I'll persuade the Mrs that a trip to tun wells is a nice day our tomorrow and I'll pick one up in maplins or something!

Was just looking on Maplins site! I need to go fetch my .28 nitro engine that has just been fitted out with electric start and there just happens to be a Maplins round the corner too

Well chaps, despite heroic efforts from @flat & @RIchard Savage (who fixed the first issues !) the Defender has developed another unrelated problem, and therefore won't be coming out to play next Saturday.... :(

But....does anyone have room for a passenger if I buy them breakfast ? :D
