Depending on how 'DIY' you are you can actually do the exact same thing with your own windows computer for FREE.

See RangeRovers.net :: View topic - Windows EAS Unlock Tool...

This doesn't read the fault though, however, the EAS ECU isnt the best at reporting the correct fault anyway.

Remember, if you use this tool it will only clear the fault, it wont fix the original cause. You will still need to diagnose why you got the fault originally.

The EAS kicker sold by Black Box solutions is a nice device. The price is still a bit out of my range for an infrequent occurance. I do know that Colin at Black Box Solutions is only producing a limited number of these EAS kicker devices.

The EASunlock tool has been under development for just about a year now. It was only until about two months ago that we finished the development. I moved the development of the software for both Win32 and PDA versions to SourceForge.net: Range Rover - EAS - Reset

The construction of the DIY EAS tool is not difficult and all the details are located inside the zip file within the download section.

I agree with Wills.
If you have to unlock the latched fault that's fine-but what caused it??-will it happen again?
I have Rovacomlite with several software modules for the P38 which gives me diagnostic and reset capabilities. Reason I bought it was that I was getting p****d off paying main dealers €100 (£80+) for a simple reset. I live in Ireland and independants are non existant and because of the road tax costs here-related to engine size there ain't many 4.0 & 4.6's over here and if you drive one it's thought your a millionaire waiting to be screwed. Since then, word has got around and I get the odd use of the Rovacom on other peoples P38's which helps pay for additional modules as I need them.
I suggest, if you know a few P38 owners that you all chip in & buy the set up and add software as you need it-easy activation via the web.
I have always found Blackbox and all the staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Theres another EAS kicker from blackbox, is only £75 inc shipping -

Definitely worth it even just to get you home or to a dealers ! Ive got one, and its more than paid for itself ( a local garage wanted £95 +VAT just to connect up and clear the faults!! ))

It's a lot better to get the free EASunlock and read the faults and correct them than to constantly keep clearing the same ones. Preventive maintenance works wonders you know.
