Just got back to Dorset from Nottingham having watched my beloved Forest get smashed by Blackpool in the Play Off Semi.

I was going in my RR however, just after topping up with fuel (£99.00) the suspension did not rise fully and after 10 mins or so the EAS Pump made some very weird noises. I would say akin to a scraping and scratching noise. I decided to turn around and nurse the RR home and as I pulled onto the drive an EAS fault registered on the dash. I jumped in the wifes car and went to Nottingham.

Anyway, Ive decided to get either a new pump or recon off ebay but my question is

Will the BECM welcome the new pump into the enging bay or will it ask 'Who the hell are you'. If the latter how will I get the new pump calibrated to my BECM.

Kind regards

Dave

it will accept it no "who the hell are you" but you will need to go to a mains stealer or someone local who can take the eas fault off for you, there is people selling the kit on fleabay to do it for about 25 quid or there is rswsolutions who do a free download but you need the lead too go from laptop to car

depends if its a hard or soft fault, disconect battery make sure you have radio code eka code and know how to resync the handset, fit the pump and see what happens it may just start up and carry on as normal.if not then someone with diagnostics or eas kicker will be required :)

Don't waste your time disconnecting the battery, it is not going to get rid of an EAS slow 35mph fault which is a hard fault. If it's just an EAS fault message which is a soft fault it will go away when you fix the pump. For the hard fault you need the software from www.rswsolutions.com plus a cable, a laptop and possibly a serial to USB adaptor, or an EAS Kicker from BBS.

Thanks all. I have to confess that last thursday I replaced the seal on the piston, I thought things went fairly well apart from not being able to getting the piston out. I changed the seal in situ, but have obviously done something wrong. Think I will bite the bullet and buy a new pump but just needed to know if this is a simple exchange.

Datatek, yes , the car just shows EAS FAULT and not the SLOW £35PH FAULT, so its good news that its a simple exchange.

Thank you

Don't throw the old pump away, it can probably be re-conditioned:D
