Any clues my EAS system does not disable with any door or tailgate open I am sure it should TIA

You are right,it should.Does the interior light come on when you open the doors?

BECM issue i would think it is that which inhibits EAS operation with doors ajar.

Are you sure it's not disabled with the doors open?

As above, plus it could be the link wiring from BECM to the EAS ECU or a corroded connector at either end.

Thanks for the input people. Yes the EAS is not disabled with any doors open ? The other clue that may help is interior lights will sometimes not turn off also even with the lights disabled on the dash ie interior lights off ! Any more ideas please ? Before i dismantle the BECM

As said before, door lock mechanism/ microswitch, or wet carpets.

Thanks I will check the all the advice given. Am I correct in thinking that the top board of BECM is responsible for the EAS system ?

The eas ecu is under the passenger seat but will get the door signals from becm

No. EAS ECU is under passenger seat.

Forget the EAS ECU, it's just responding to a signal from the BECM.
Just start by checking for wet carpet in the drivers footwell, then go on to check the door micros witches.

Update: replaced micro switch in drivers door and appears to have solved the problem thanks for the valuable advice

They are not supplied separately, you will have to find a drivers door lock with the motors burnt out, there should be plenty about
