My 96 P38 has developed a fault on the EAS. It wont lift and as soon as the lift button is pressed it blows the fuse each time. If I lift it Manually and then start the vehicle it will lower and set itself correctly and as soon as the button is pressed to lift it again the fuse blows.

Any ideas or help would be apprieciated....
 
:confused: Fuse 9?? That fuse is on the side of the BeCM and is for the front audio amps/front doors. Is this DEFINITELY the one that is blowing??

Which fuse if blowing? Which fuse-box is it in? It sound as if it might be a faulty air compressor drawing too much current. Also check the relay sockets in the engine bay fuse-box in case any are burnt. You could also selectively swop some of the relays around in the engine bay fuse-box as there are mainly only two types.
 
According to RAVE (You can download RAVE on the web) fuse 17 is inthe BECM and feeds the ABS system, the stop-lamp switches and the air suspension ECU, so a fault on any one would cause th fuse to blow. I would try and eliminate the other two first. Suggestions -(1) see if the brake lights still work when the fuse is blown and also check to see if they work before you start the engine with the fuse intact. (2) You might have a problem with the ABS pump, because I think that is checked when you first start up? Regarding the air suspension system, I am loath to make suggestions in case it brings up the requirement to reset the ECU, in which case you need a dealer or someone with a Rovacom. If you have the ability yourself or a good friend with a suitable meter, you could check the current drawn by F17 and if you download RAVE, you could then test elsewhere in the same circuit to eliminate causes other than the air suspension? Sorry not to be of more help. :(
