Thanks for the reply. Does that mean the immobiliser will be turned off as well?.
It's the full £180 EAS package I bought and downloaded. The software all looks fine but I need the cables that were part of the package. I'm hoping it's just a collection of rs232 to OBDs so I can work it out and make them myself. Otherwise that's £180 down the toilet. Feeling a bit scammed.☹️
Not sure what you have purchased but it must be more then the RSW EAS suite which is free, just the cost of the cable which you can easily make. does it claim to be a full diagnostic package? Where did you buy it?
I think the immobiliser must also have been turned off.
Fixing the FOB will not cause any problems, you will have to sync it to the BECM though which is also easy.
I got the free download a while back and made up the cable for that (pretty straightforward) but that only covers the suspension. I need to sus out how it talks to the other things. In particular the Hevac. I've an issue with that I was hoping to look at with it. If it's just another cable I have no issue making it myself but I don't have a pinout for it and looking at the ODB pinout there's no direct Hevac rs232 so I'm guessing canbus
Maybe the hardware will turn up but I'm not getting any response from my emails so not holding out much hope.
No CAN bus on the P38 diesel. ONLY Nanocom or Faultmte will talk to all systems on the P38.

Should have said it's a 4.6 petrol gems.
I made up the cable for the basic EAS free software that was a simple rs232 setup and I've got an interfaker 4 breakout box if there's in issues there but the "pay for" software can apparently talk to most of the systems on the car. That was bought off RSW solutions web site. The link I pasted doesn't work (404) but a search on RSW Solutions finds it ok.

OK, if you ordered from RSW Solutions, it most likely is coming from the USA and will be caught up in customs with the Christmas stuff. I'll have a look later, but I think the RSW software is limited to reading and clearing faults and not on all systems, no live data for example. I would be happy to be wrong about that.

Cheers.
Your input is appreciated.
I'll put the fob back together and give it a bash.

Says it does a fair bit on the web page. For $180 that's good value.

The download, V4 upgrade the prolific driver install went like clockwork but no hardware so far and that was bought in October.

It does quite a lot but nothing for the diesel. Good value for your V8. The Prolific USB to serial adaptor is not supported on Win 10 and above. Send a query to RSW, have they confirmed shipment?

You definitely need the correct cable. The electronics inside the diagnostic plug end, enable the serial data from USB to go to each ECU on the correct pins. Nanocom does the same thing but inside the unit itself (i.e. no electronics in the cable)

There was tracking info initially but when I checked USPS said a label had been created but they hadn't received the parcel. I contact RSW and I was assured it had been sent but another would be anyway.
Since then, nothing. Tried emailing to ask for tracking info but no response. Regards the USB driver I'm maybe misunderstanding but he does have a video on rolling back the driver after Windows 10 update screws it up. I'm still hoping this works out for, as others have said, looks like good value.

Figured it would be something like this and I considered making a separate cable for each system but there's not enough tx/rx ports on the ODB to cover everything.

What you are getting is not simply a cable, the OBD connector contains a micro controller that handles all the necessary communication, you cannot just make a cable. If you paid via Paypal, I suggest you invoke the non delivery procedure to claim a refund but advise Storey that is what you are going to do first.

I still hoping there's some explanation for this and it all works out. Maybe my emails are ending up in his "spam folder". I don't do Facebook so can't contact him though that. I'll leave it till after Christmas and try again. I think I'm well beyond PayPal's cut off as the original transaction was back in October.

Still worth trying Paypal
