So iv just had my visit from mike at dynachip, after a bit of research on here it seemed he was the goto guy for the td5.

Seriously if you havnt had this done do it !!!!!! :D:D:D My face on test drive after mike worked his magic

Every time I read these threads about Dynachip, it reminds me that I really must get mine done. Bit of an issue though with having a huge puddle in between me and Mike.

I did email him last year and he offered to remap my ECU if I posted it to him, but one thing or another has always seemed to get in the way. Once the weather improves, and the motorbike comes back in daily use, I think I'll be dropping Mike an email. :D @biketeacherdave what did you notice most about the engine after the remap?

What did I notice...ERM........it goes like stink is all I can say I even took a mate out for a spin he has had a couple of these over the years he could not believe it and now wants one chipped.

Will report back on mpg as iv been fixing forks seals this afternoon on the same mates bike....all I can say is.....just do it !

So iv just got back from a test drive and can now form a better idea of how the disco has been improved.
Yes it goes like stink it is quieter I'm sure it pulls like no other diesel iv driven and iv driven a few I went on some local roads here I use to test drive my cars and bikes after repair a mix of A and B roads so 30 mph roads all the way up to 60mph. Lots of up hill stuff.

The engine and gearbox now know they are connected together before it seemed to me they had no idea what they were doing those driving a standard td5 will know what I mean up and down the gears all the time, kick down doing nothing but making more noise. Who would have known a 2ish ton brick with a 2.5 oil burner could be so much fun..... There I said it. Still won't replace the p38 4.6 V8 in my life. :D:D:D

Now I need the remap sooner :) Thanks for the feedback.

OK, When we took mine out for a test drive, he was reading my nanocom , he did suggest it could be turned up on the wastegate a little.

Cheers

Nice to know

My mates disco has just had a HD torque converter fitted and needs a remap, mine also could do with one once I've sorted the misfire and my dads could probably be done at the same time

I'll give him a call

If you get a chance, can you post a photo of your wastegate actuator?
Mike did mine a week or so ago and we had to wind back the actuator as a PO had boosted the pressure and removed the modulator - so I want to get it back to standard and then adjust slowly with the Nanocom to get the optimal setting - so a photo of yours would really help :)

As soon as the wife gets back with it I'll snap a pic

I'm very tempted, had mine about a month, and although I love it, from a standing start, it's like a slug on blotting paper!!!:D
:D:D
How much is a remap?

£225 I believe (pls correct me if I'm wrong). Mine will cost a bit more due to postage off and back on to the rock.

Gutted... Found out I've got an interview on Thursday and need the car, so the remap will have to wait until next month. :(
