Mike can't remap my ECU the week after next, so I'm going to take the chance that the Royal Mail delivers it on time to Mike and back to myself before Thursday.

For postal insurance, what should I put the price as?

Just finished packing the ECU... you'd think I was shipping a Fabergé egg!! :D:eek:

If you want a working Disco2, then it's even more valuable than a Fabergé egg!

OK, so Mike has done the remap and the ECU is on it's way back to me, but he's mentioned that the ECU lid has been removed at some point in the past, so I'm a little bit concerned now as to what someone has been been doing inside it.

You may find it was just removed to check for oil contamination, if the red plug has been full in the past.
I would have thought if there was a major issue then Mike would have said so.

Cheers

I hope that's all it is. Mike didn't say anything else, so I'm assuming he was just making me aware.

Just to add a bit more juice to the thread - Mike did mine a while back and we backed down the wastegate actuator that a PO had wound in. Now it's adjusted back to about 11 threads and the wastegate actuator is all reconnected.
When towing the caravan up to Yorkshire and back I had the nanocom in instrument mode and monitored the boost pressure. It appears that the wastegate modulator is what is allowing the overboost condition (in my case up to 1.37 bar) so that it would seem that the actuator rod length is slightly irrelevant but that a working wastegate modulator is vital.
The new map from Mike seems to handle everything with ease and it was a pleasure to drive with the van on the back - more than enough grunt to handle overtaking with ease. It appears to have done between 24-25mpg when towing at 60mph - not bad considering the D2 was pretty loaded up too!
