Took a quick whizz up the road last night, no MOT or tax but got insurance of course to see if the abs light went out, it did:) and that the auto box worked, it did:) and listen for any death noises, there were non:):):).
Off to the MOT at 10am , took the long way, about 20miles, and everything seems fine:):):). Booted it to get the redex through where I could and arrived at the MOT station, turned her off and wondered in. Guy took the key and drove her on to the ramp while I sat in the viewing area nervously:(.
He walked past me after about 20mins and I asked how it was going?
He said, so far, advisery on the rear indicators, not orange enough and a fail because the abs light is on:eek:.
I politely pointed out that it goes out at above 5mph but he said it's still a fail because it was presented to him with the light on:(.
Then I remembered that I had turned the engine off which means it resets so need to get to 5mph again and it will stay off. Luckily the handbook was inside so I found the relevant page and showed him, he then took it up the road and the light went out so he was happy:).
12months MOT:):):)! and he must have forgotten about the indicator bulbs as there are no advisories.
Driving back, I played with the cruise control and that works great too:)
Everything works!!:):).
Not 100% sure about the Aircon though at this point, seemed colder than ambient but I feel it should be better, overall , I'm chuffed:)

Good result, car looks nice too.:D How is hot starting?

Going to do the auto box fluid and filter next along with the diffs and transfer box. I'm ok with that but how much ATF will I need for the auto box?, I believe you can't get it all out (11 LTRs iirc).

5 Litres for a re-fill. Check the bolts on the valve block while you have the sump off per Henry-b's advice, many were loose on mine causing flaring on shifts.

Ta Keith. Yes, I remember the bolts being mentioned on a post somewhere aimed at me but a memory jog is useful:)

Nice one Chris looks like you saved this one proper.
I’d leave the nano alone and look through the fuelling system manually. Dodgy CPS usually starts to play up hot but okay cold butcant rule it out. inj 4 sensor will cause mil lamp to flash on dash. I’d be checking static with a dti (1/1000mil) - final adjustment of FIP must be towards the engine.
It could be just needs a good run clean the injectors out. Redex won’t hurt use it regular and keep an eye on the clear pipe.

That sounds like normail hot-start issue.
I don't know what that means ^^^o_O

Anywhoo...picked my daughter up from Walsall train station last night, now got 120 miles on the trip clock , about 80 of them on my biodiesel.
Off to the local farmers store to get some ATF for the auto box change.
The lumpy idle thing hasn't been an issue thus far, I set off as soon as it's started, the fast cold idle is non lumpy and as long as I don't idle in gear before a couple of minutes running she's fine. Not plugged the nano back in yet to recheck stuff but I will:eek:

Bio diesel:eek: that could account for lumpy idle.

You will not get near optimum modulation with DTI, just near enough.

Ahhhh... disaster!
Not really:D.
Noticed 2 things driving in the dark last night.
I tried to flash a car in and I have no flash but I do if headlamps are off.o_O
And secondly, my time clock doesn't light up so probably bulb gone. How do you get at that?

The headlight problem could be simply the stalk, either faulty or the connector block.ive never had the clock out,can you access the rear of it with the glovebox removed. Hopefully someone with experience will have the answer.

I changed the bulb in my clock once. Got a feeling I got my hand in through where the radio is enough to pop it out.

Tried googling and rave came up. Quite a bit of plastic to remove and being as I've got to remove it all to paint or wrap next summer I'll do both jobs then.

If the headlamps flash when off, hard to see how it can be a problem with the stalk.
Clock can be got at with the radio out. I replaced the bulb with an ultrabright red LED
