Hi all, second time I've posted this as im new to the sight and think i put it in the wrong section! Im going to decat my rangie and wanted to remove middle silencer too, has anyone done this? Have any tips or anything that can help me...
Thanks!!

just had a quote from a place that makes exhausts to replace my centre box on my 4.6, they wanted £75 and thats in stainless. they bend it to the correct shape.

cant advise on de-cat though.

It is illegal not to have a cat fitted to any road going vehicle made in or after 1993 diesel or petrol. Construction and use regulations. However there is no check for diesel cats in MOT. Think i would wait until after January though, new stuff coming in again then i think.

i was close :)

i know the SRS is coming in next year, as in , warning light on dash constant = fail.

but got mine sorted today, some plonka had left it disconnected behind the glove box. connected it, ran the diagnostics, and all clear :)

Hi

This will most likely cause a problem with the engine management system.

I know that the O2 sensors are monitored, so at the very least you will have O2 sensor errors in the system.

Where abouts in the exhaust is the sensor? Its possible to buy a decat pipe so isn't it exactly the same if i just replace it myself? Sorry if my questions seem daft but im not very nolidgeable on mechanics (or spelling)

If it's diesel which it being a DSE is highly likely, it does not have a sensor.
