Garage confirmed it was 5v ones. From memory 12v ones have a different fitting and wouldn’t fit anyway. Could the harness be an issue?

What you could do with knowing is the current for each glow plug. If using clamp on meter that would prove connection and glow plug heating up.

The starting should not be a problem with the current outside temperature.
Glow plugs are always condamned without any trial !
When the glow plugs are heating up, the battery voltage should drop.
You can also test the resistance of the glow plugs, you should get very low ohm value.
Also don't change glowplugs only for changing them, sometimes you get no luck and a glowplug break.
Some jackass used to test glow plugs with one hand on the battery and the other hand on the glowplug.

Morning all, quick update:
- Glow plugs have been tested and all ok.
- Compression test has been done and all ok.
- Leak down test on the the injectors also done and this was ok too.
- I've swapped out the camshaft and crankshaft sensors, but no difference.
However, all of this and it failed to start today until its third time. Just cranked, and spluttered for 6 or 7 seconds before I stopped it to save the starter. Waited a minute and then tried again. Only fired up after the 3rd time.
Could the CTS be at fault? It reads ok on the dash, and shows as 80C when engine is warm on a Bluetooth OBD reader, but just a thought.
Any ideas?

Coolant temp sensor, sorry!
Return flow of the injectors is ok.
No fault code, no obvious fuel leak that either me or a garage can see. Could be air ingress somewhere, but not found it.

That i don't know, just thinking all a diesel needs is fuel air and compression to start.
There should be some live data you can monitor showing air flow and fuel pressure.
