Has anyone installed one of these security posts?

I am thinking of installing a telescopic post that retracts into the ground when not in use. But Im not sure how effective they are.

Heres some Ive found on the tinternet..

Bulldog TE100 Telescopic Security Post - Driveway posts and barriers

Driveguard Security

Bollards West Yorkshire, Security Posts Wakefield, security posts, telescopic posts, security hoops, arm barriers, anti-ram raid barriers, Rhino bollards West Yorkshire, ram raid barrier West Yorkshire

Dunno but I would bury the fooker with 6ft of concrete either side of it else anyone knicking yer landy would just drive over it.

And for that money I would mek summat meself, good thick bit of box section with a slightly smaller bit that was slide snugly inside it, drill a few hole in em both, a pin and a padlock and bobs yer uncle

24v angle grinders ?

if people want your landy they'll have it - even if they have to bump you over the head and nick the keys they'll have it

I know if they wunt it they will have it, but anything that slows em down a bit is handy, and anyone that doesn't hear an angle grinder going in their driveway must be reet deff.

After having a tosser keep ripping lods of posts like this out of the ground, i gave up and used a hole cutter to dig a 5 foot deep 9 inch hole.

The got a large length of 6 inch waste pipe, put it in the hole, put 12 steel reinforcing rods down the inside of the tube, then filled the inside and outside of the tube with high density concret.

Many have tried to move these, and many have failed, and couple of cars have been writen off by driving into them, but they have as yet not move.......

The large length of ships anchor chain that went around them, and around the lnady's axel also helped give the impression of 'don't even thing about trying'

I like the idea of securing with a chain.

But I guess I would soon get fed up with crawling under the Landy.
Either that, or I would forget to remove it, drive off, and rip my axel off!:)

We use one to secure the Car Transporter Trailer - like most security devices, not foolproof, but enough to make thieves look for an easier mark.
