I have an issue with a 200tdi manual gearbox setup in a rrc. Driving along and suddenly ground to a halt; as though the brakes were being applied. Tried to set off again but would not move. I reversed and it cleared, though it' doing it again now, reversing clears what ever is wrong for a short while. Possibly n/s front wheel is locking up, hard to tell for sure. Any ideas? Not something I've ever come across before Andy

Re-post in Disco section please. @blue beasty

Possibly caliper in the process of falling off or a brake pad that's slipped out of place.

^^^^ What he said - I had this in one of my classics and the brake pad was so worn, it slipped between the caliper and the disc locking it up, reversing moved the pad back again, only to move and lock up when going forwards!

Had this with drums, including the handbrake drum a couple of times, and IIRC the RRC has the same hand brake drum system as the real Landies, so I would be inclined to start there.

I'd look at handbrake drum first too. And btw you mean real landies have the same handbrake as the RRC ;)

In your dreams my friend!
Real Landies have been around since 1948, whilst the 'posh man's toy' only appeared in 1970!
