Third post thread today. My D2 2003 TD5 has an annoying vibration when traveling above 80mph. It has been getting worse for the last 4 or 5 years and since about 60,000 miles. Now 115,000. It comes at about 80 and sometimes you seem to be able to drive through it but its always hanging around. Little bit load and even direction sensitive but more speed than anything. Props seem great and of course if I had failing UJs I wouldn't have had it for so many miles and years. I have a feeling it is out of balance props but really do not know. Incidentally, my 300 tdi is the same. I take this Landie to the Alps every year and like to maintain 90 to 100 mph on the Autoroutes Bang on where the vibration is. I'd buy a D3 if I had 30 grand lying around but just can't justify it for the amount of use it gets and it's still a fantastic drive in so many ways. My Cooper S mini would crap all over it in so many ways but for eating mile after mile of motorway and/or climbing a snow covered mountain switchback it's fantastic. Every Discovery I have owned has succumbed to a similar drive line vibration after a few years but I just don't know what to replace to get rid of it. Local Dealer says it's all good but they don't take it up to 100mph. Any ideas? somebody must have got rid of it at some time.
