Picture diary of my carport, with 2 post lift and rooms above.
Not been on here much of late, Designed the carport myself, had to get my head around load tables etc, not too hard just maths really and formulas, internerd is a good start and knowing people buidling control helps ( not in my area but was very useful!)
The Carport will have a twin trapdoor inner roof, operated by a 12V winch, this will allow me to open up the middle section of the roof to allow the defender to go up on a 2 post lift into the rooms above. when not in use the doors will close (floating mullion) type of thing, and will create a flush floor for the middle large room above.
end room will be an office the other end a toilet / shower room etc.Middle room will be a day room chill spot when the floor is down...
So three projects on the go at once,
Carport
Music Studio ( you can see that progrssing int he background, replaced ALL the walls twin skinned and de-coupled inner room.
And removing a 3 foot high, 20m x 20M abomination of a patio and pond.
So been a tad preoccupied!
Im not a builder, far from it, but having a go.
Had to get planning permission, which was a doddle.......
Concrete went down about 18 months ago, then got stuck into other things, ie work, a new Mrs and music, work resumed with timber posts in Feb this year.
Consumer unit test fitted today.
Im lucky I have some good mates who all get stuck in, although to be honest the recent tool brand rivalry and PPE fashion show with shorts and footwear is drving me mad lol
Much chin scratching and mistake rectification, mild wood theft from the dogs throughout, and no injuries ( only pride).
Cost so far:
30 Cows worth of milk
500+ espressos
1 x sugar cane plantation
5 bbq's
1 espresso machine
and about 5 new trade accounts opened.
Big thank you to Lee from KCT Timber, if you are in Kent and you need ...'wood' ( timber i mean, steady!) give them a call great people good price.
