Facia boarding, ahead of cladding....
Nice deep soffet will be done in 6x1 sawn, with puddle lights, still playing with design at the mo, as may have roller shutters, so the space is future proofed for that if i go that way.

Final steel in and went for twin posts.
All watertight now and ready for the nasty weather we have here in the valley what others call winter.
IMO project scope creep is bad.
Scope evolution as far as i am concerned is expected, anyone that builds exactly to the plan, should have employed a robot.
At least that what i tell students nowadays!

Dewalt cordless mini saw and nail gun have been superb throughout, cant use paslode's the gas makes me feel sick.
Picca pencil n wax markers are now on my fav list as well.
IF I never see another roofing square ( its a triangle ) it will be too soon.....
On no account put oil in the nail gun, you will kill it instantly.

IF its a pneumatic then you MUST oil it.

Cordless you must NEVER oil it, to be honest why would anyone ever make this mistake considering its got NO OIL messages plastered all over it.:D

The only exception to this rule is the dewalt cordless AK47 nail/bullet hyrbrid gun below, which you must oil....

Wish I had one of those in my tool bag on more than one occasion.

New tester toys
Just like 'what oil should i use' that results in the world and thier wifes opinion, several of which know, married, someone that worked in a refinery or land rover etc, humans have opinions, rarely backed up by fact, moreover its mostly preferance or experience etc, .......
So with that in mind and in my opinion :p when it comse to electrical testing you cant get better than MEGGER !
Cue the fluke boys......lol

Both Megger and Fluke are fine makes and are both well featured, I am old enough that some of the testing equipment I trained on is in the science museum, I kid you not.
I was there a few years ago and took a real double take at the cabinets when some of the kit that was hi tech at the time was on display:eek:

my nephew is doing his apprenticeship, i could not belive the size of his 'recommended' tool kit, lol.
Torque screwdrivers n all sorts, i aksed him if he was up to speed with the 25th edition, amendments he looked very worried and said OMG we are only on the 19th.....PMSL, could not resist. His name is Lewis, so i have now decided to call him little R1

18th, amendment 3 if I remember right, not the 19th;) In saying that I haven't been a working spark for around 20 years.
I am jealous of your build, just poured the base of a shed a couple of hours ago to clear the workshop of bikes and give me some room. Nothing like as fancy as yours though!
Just waiting for the concrete to harden a little so I can finish it.

Last night I again tried to explain 2way / intermediate switching to my mate, as he says the dowstairs hall-way light switch sometimes works upside down , after a few attempts, with coloured pens, we settled on "its magic".:D:D:D

You would not believe just how many sparks don't know how to wire up two way switching, throw in an intermediate or two and the head scratching really starts:eek:
I am not convinced on the "modern apprenticeship" working yet, you seem to end up with a load of folk very highly qualified but unable to tie their own shoelaces:rolleyes:

Chamfer barge face plate, waterproof flex n rear gland for swithc with neon locator.
Bit of a wiska (Schneider actually) Jbox web for temp lighting, final install will be conduit.
Will be fitting (linked to house system) fire detection of course.

I have a bit if an unusual supply up here, so my nephew is stil scratching his head about it.
TNCS > Incomer > isolator > Meter > 100m SWA > House Isolator > RCBO CSU.
Cos i did not trust the horro show at the bottom of my drive, the House also now has TT rods. ( see posts below)
LPG gas supply is plastic and water supply is plastic.

Joys of living in the middle of nowhere with overhead power, its like the 70's flicering lights and reclosers flicing every few days when it rains lol cases havoc with internet and other modern electronics, hence hefty UPS. The overheads are a nice green colour lol, UKPN (charming bunch of wilfs they are) have it sched for upgrage this year, but thats been the case since 2019....
Also have a 240genny not got around to fitting a proper change over yet.

When i first moved in, two neighbouring farms, the plastic cabinets were all falling apart and had clear plastic sheet over them, so i buit a temp shelter over them and went mental at UKPN and the supply retailers.

Now got a nice brick built kiosk with new switch gear and a proper monster plastic clad henley and one SWA from network.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:
