VOSA blokes do nothing ..I questioned an MOT once and had it re moted by them ..The list was as long as your arm a total bodge job ..What it failed on first time was put on as advisorys when it passed its retest what it failed on the second time..Was all the advisorys on the previous pass Did they do anything???No just told me its failed and sat with the first MOT ers with a cup of tea laughing..Talking warped discs brake pipes rusted door had no lock and couldnt open from outside hole in the exhaust box 6 inch square with a bit of wire holding a loose bit of alloy that fell off during Vosa test, broken spring wheel bearings loose etc etc loads more

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I am aware VOSA can set up a roadside test in conjunction with the local constabulary and carry out spot checks on any vehicle to see if it is roadworthy!

That used to be the case - but now they no longer need to involve the police...they have full right to stop any vehicle for a variety of reasons.

They stop lorries near here.. and issue fines iirc. Last one I heard about was leaking diesel all over the road... nasty stuff if you are on a bike.

You freely admit you are one of the MOT/Vosa Gestapo cock noshers checking if MOT stations are doing their job right, well I'll tell you if you ever choose my vehicle as a test check and rev it's ####ing engine to the max yet again after it's first check, I will drop you or one of your gestapo colleagues to the ground.
You shi*ters are worse than car park wardens and wheel clamper's, debt collectors and bailiffs, dog ****e on the shoe is more welcome than ****s like you.:mad::mad:

Rant over. :D

Really? Is that how you feel? Bet you moan about the dodgy garages and ****ters that shouldn't be on the road, one of these 'enforce the rules just not upon me' kinda people?

For starters the engine being revved is part of the test, the test can be checked by VOSA at any time, the garage can suggest which car so if a customer has to get going they generally can (ultimate call is with VOSA but be nice and they can be nice back). If you don't think your engine can handle this then it's not road worthy.

I welcome any VOSA inspection at my place, we are a green light station, we have an impeccable record with VOSA and I have nothing to hide, it doesn't get in my way and it makes sure we are doing what's correct. Would you rather garages aren't tested? All these threads about 'proxy MOT tester got this wrong' yet your now saying those who try to combat this are worthless, something's not right there

As for the roadside VOSA testers, again they are there for a valid reason, you don't want overloaded vans and dangerous trucks rolling on the road next to your family do yah?

I do actually find it quite shocking how many people are moaning on this thread of 'their not going to retest my car', #### me they are doing it for our benifit, maybe not you personally but it's still for your safety!

Look, that may be so ; all I'm saying is a badge of some kind really too much to ask for?

Could you try again but in English please?

I think what he means is he wasnt happy with a vehicle that had just been MOT.d so he appealed it with VOSA , who then can examine the vehicle and if need be take action with the tester/garage who issued the MOT . That is if they find significant faults that should have been found during the test

I also think I have a quite good sense of humour

Heard a while back about a bus driver that was stopped at a roadside check. Several defects were found, so he was instructed to follow the officers back to the local Test Centre. The comment was made that he was in a little spot of bother. His reply was : not as much as your guys at the centre...he was just returning from having passed his annual inspection! :D
