I have a leak at the rear where the hardtop to body foam seal has perished or gone hard. Is it possible to loosen the fixings to create enough space to fit a new seal or does the panel need to come out which will affect other seals like upper panel to roof seal?

don’t know how useful this is but done the roof on my old series 3 safari

got some hard neoprene rubber to slide inbetween the roof and side panels, borrowed a high lift jack and some 4x2 timbers

put the timber length ways on the roof , timbers width ways across the inside wheel arches , then jacked each side up and placed upright timbers for support , used the jack to break the seals and timbers not to dent the roof

the rubber wasn’t like a sponge material , if I remember it’s was the same one that is placed under the bottom of the windscreen

used a cordless , long socket and extension bar with a ratchet the other side to get enough nuts snd bolts off in order I could lift what I needed to

hope it helps a little

Headliner still reeling, 30 years of dirt :D
Decided to do something today and it’s the 3 piece headliner. Already tackled the front bit a couple years ago as it were sagging on me noggin.
The clean…surprisingly it has come up like new.

Then the hoover…30 years of grime hoovered up. I have also put a damp cloth with detergent over this to ensure a good contact later.

Then I added some stiffener to the roof side as the liner creased on removal. Unsure if this will add anything at this point.

Just need to bond the cleaned headliner back to the form later this afternoon.

Maybe more later who knows

Well after a can of spray adhesive and a few choice words I’m no further on. They make it look easy on Texas Metal and my attempt was poor at best. Ripped the stuff back off and I’m getting a tin of glue now so if it’s crap a second time I can sniff the stuff  stupid phooking Defenders

Iv not covered mine.it’s a job I should have done about 10years ago when I got it. But it is a nice grey fibreglass

I ripped mine off the base and used camper van carpet snd spray glue. Maybe worth a shot? I much prefer mine in black. Also got black studs off ebay to match it

I’m going to get some Evo stick or similar and do it it small sections. When I did it yesterday the original vinyl didn’t stretch far enough. 5 minutes in the tumble drier might work first, if not I’ll set it all on fire.

Rooting through some paperwork and found this for my truck. I knew it had been to Liverige at some point but fer-f-sake…
