What is on the other end of these bolts (inside the hollow section) as shown in the photo.

As you can see, they are quite a mess with rust. I was planning to simply grind off the welds, and replace them with some fresh bolts.

However, there doesn't seem to be any way to get inside the hollow section. What I would like to know is whether there is bolt heads inside the hollow section.

Thanks for any replies.

There are no bolt heads, that is simply a stud welded to the bottom frame of the door top.
Best option would either be to cut off and replace, or recut the thread with a die and grease it well!

Thanks for the replies. I bought some new 7/16" UNF x 4" bolts to replace these. I probably could get away with running a die down the threads and cleaning the rest up with a flap disc.

OR just buy two new door tops ....£50 each fully glazed ....or £30 odd a pair unglazed ....

You'll be replacing the ones you have shortly anyway ....plugs/points/filters and a brace of new door tops please ...

unless you buy Wolf all alloy ones they are a service item .

Thanks, thats where mine came from but I forgot that I had bought ther runners for the glass and there is also the carriage.

I have to say that on first inspection they look very well made.
