MY2000 Vogue. New to me, and just looking for advice on a couple of minor issues.
When I turn the radio/CD player on, there is a noise coming from the speaker in the passenger door - the small one in the triangular panel in front of the window glass. It's a regular crackle, a bit like a playing card in the spokes of a bicycle wheel. It gets louder with the signal. For example, on a talk radio programme, it is fairly quiet when there is silence in the speaking, and then gets louder as people talk. It's the same on radio and when playing a CD, so I assume it is a problem in the audio system rather than the radio or CD components. It's a completely new one on me, never had this before. Can anyone help with what the cause is, and if I can cure it?
If not, I am quite happy to disconnect that speaker for the time being. Can anyone advise how to get the plastic trim off without breaking it? It's like a triangular plastic moulding and I can get a finger behind it on the front edge, but no further. I'm afraid I will snap something. Or is there an easier way to disconnect it?
Thanks all.
