I'm trying to get the door lining off so that I can get the drivers window to wind down all the way properly - it gets very stiff half way and I could only get it down with a wrench on the winder.

I can get all fittings off from the inside of the door except for the lock mechanism (the plastic surround) - that just seems to be a bugger to get off and its holding the lining to the door.

Any Tips? It's probably something simpleĀ…

Cheers

Chris

Just nipped in from the Rangie section but every car that I've ever worked on has either had a screw hidden behind the handle or the surround slides off either forward or backwards.

After screw removed push towards front of car i think and ease out, think its forwards try it both ways done so many of these but just do it without thinking these days, you do have to be quite firm with it.

As fyne says

Pull the handle slightly forward and you'll see a small phillips screw. Remove and then slide the plastic housing to the left (drivers door) or right (passenger door) and lift it away

When putting the window winder handle back on make sure you set it with the window closed at the 9 or 10 0'clock position.... just a little thing or it rubs your right knee. One of my minor fook ups I like to share :)

After removing the retaining screw just apply a little pressure to the door lining next to the lock piece your removing and slide it rearwards slightly first, as there is little hook on the back of it that is preventing you from lifting it out.
