Does anyone else notice that rain goes into the door handle recess and disappear down into the frame somewhere. I have drilled two holes in the bottom box section of the rear door to let it out. Any other suggestions greatly appreciated

I take it we are talking about the rear door ? It is just the way they are, there should be drain holes in the lower rail if original. They are triangular in shape.
Removing the door card and coating the frame with Dintrol ML gives protection along with keeping holes clear.
The holes you have drilled will be a good place for the rot to start unless bare metal is protected.

Good point. I have some waxoyl I have been using.
All the doors have the same recess where the handles are. Only the rear is a new one I fitted. Side doors are original and though quite knackered I think I will get away with door tops for now. I am getting her on the road so I can take my sheep to market in a vehicle that I can fix. Takes all the money out of it paying for garage
I will have a look at the old side doors for the holes in the bottom rail. Does seem a strange design though

I've lined my doors with roofing flashband to keep the noise down, it makes a big differnce, at the bottom its wrapped over the frame to stop the water going down between the skin and frame.

Mine fill up and don’t drain. Just sits there in a little puddle under the handle. I didn’t think it a problem.

If your front doors just have the usual rot in the bottom rail weld in replacements are available.

Aye there's a bit of welding to be done one day
I live off grid, only have two solar panels and a small generator
Too small
But am good with a mig
Life sends is these puzzles
However I could silicone in the recess to achieve the puddle like bobstickle and add some fairy liquid for a convenient hand washing facility
