MOT is a grey area. But most testers if the light is off will pass it. There is a clause for vehicles extensively modified for competion use.......

Insurance company notified.

My Rover track day car, passed the MOT with 3 advisories. The general rule is 'if it's there, it needs to work' and as long as there is no illuminated lights on the dash and everything that is there functions safely and properly there's no reason to fail it

Loving the build thread by the way. Got a scrapper 1.8 that the Missus owns. Going to keep myself busy fixing that up. This thread gives me a good idea of how it should look :clap2:

arnt the mot rules changing this month

was just being curiuos that if u disable the air bag and then remove it, surely won't it also disable the seat belt pre tensioners ???

but im not an mot examiner , just wondered how people got on when they fit a non standard steering wheel as u see it being done quiet often

u mention removing the bulb ,my arnt they soldered into the circuit board ???

If you use a resistor in place of the airbag the srs system "sees" the airbag being here still so will still activate the belt pretensioners
