Obviously laning takes us to places a lot of the general public don't see, so, you often come across evidence of mass fly tipping, occassional burnt out cars and alike.

Do you report these things to the local police?

I always aim to, just reported a car, 100% burnt out, but, missing engine, clearly someone went to a lot of effort to professionally remove the engine before trailering / towing the car down a muddy (but accessible) lane to then burn it out, if you wanted shot of a car you owned you'd surely just ring the scrap man? Just seemed a bit dodgy to us, so, noted the location (convieniently next to a Geocache!) and reported it in

Reported mass tyre fly tipping before too, and to the council who said they'd send a team out to clean up, 3 months later they still hadn't

When I was walking in the Yorkshire dales when I was a kid me and my mates found a battered suitcase all gaffa taped up. It was full of cocaine and the police reckoned it had been dropped by a plane to be collected by someone later on!

Nowhere to go laning in these parts, the one and only lane was blocked off a couple years back, funnily enough they didn't block it enough to keep horses out  Cars tend to get burnt out on the road so plenty of people would see what was going on.

There is one lane local to me which always has a tyre problem, coupled with burnt out cars.

I went for a drive one morning and found a car still smouldering.

Like bump said though, the tyres never get shifted and the council don't seem to care about it! :(

There's a nice bit of common ground near where I live and someone sound a abandoned micro light there once .. If I only knew how to fly

How much did you get for it? ;)

Yeah that's the one i reported in, twice, nothing got done

really we should all carry chalk for putting reported to police/council on cars etc
fix my street is another way of reporting it

Nah, the more people who report it the more likely they are to deal with it... if only one person reports something they're likely to just ignore it :)

they won't ignore, its usually the civiy contractor who is too lazy to pick the car up, but these days they are beaten to them by the pikies who want the cash for the steel lol

win-win situation then? Who cares who removes the scrap? :D

I am working down a green lane at the mo. All i have found is an old corona bottle.. I might take it to the shop rather than the police as i will get 2 1/2p back..

I once came across an old fitted kitchen plus cooker and fridge on a lane, looked in the draws and found the receipt for the new kitchen with the delivery address on it.
I reported it to the council but it was still there 6 months latter.

i havent to the police but have to the council a couple of times, dont know what happened though.

You should have delivered it back to them and charged them a delivery fee :p
