Do you regret buying a Freelander?

Overall I'm happy with mine, it ****es me off a bit that it now owes me more than it's worth due to things breaking but **** happens I suppose, and I'd have lost a lot more money in depreciation if I'd bought a new un.

so they are not all bad then! i almost bought another and then was persuaded to test drive a fl2, so it was a fl2 i collected a week later.

No I don't regret buying a Freelander - in fact I will probably own one for as long as they are in production in one form or another.

I do think I should have purchased a Tiptronic Auto instead of a Manual; but this can be corrected at my next purchase...hopefully in a couple/few (of) years...when the current incumbant has had enough.

Only had mine since the start of the year, but on current showing if it got run over by a artic tomorrow I'd get another straight away.

No regrets whatsoever. Although mines off the road with the clutch fork gone i think, waiting to be repaired once i save some cash again after buying my motorbike.

Wasn't a bad clutch either. Did some fun work to the engine so she'd put out a few more ponies and it couldn't handle the power :D

Once she's back on the road she'll be the fastest K series freelander on earth. I can see myself driving her less and less though as she's getting to that stage where i've put so much time and effort in, i want to keep her nice so she might be retired as the daily driver.

ive had my 2002 TD4 auto 3 door commercial for several months now, was really worried at first with 172,000 miles on the clock, but pulls really well, no smoke and wouldnt have bought it without the full land rover service history that it came with.

i adore the auto box with the sport option to just give you that extra for overtaking etc, im getting about 34mpg on a run which i think is very good.

Defently would buy another one, maybe one day when i win the lottery it will be a FL2.

Cannot believe for a 4 x 4 that weighs nearly 2 ton how well it handles around corners and is very comfortable and quiet.

I love my FL...
Ok, its a petrol 1.8, BUT its a ltd edition with funky alloys, and lots of toys, but above all its a convertible....

just had mine serviced, didn't really give it much thought until it was time to give the courtesy car back.

I was just happy to get back in me freelander, felt so much comfier and smoother.

However, grateful that the garage gave me a courtesy car so I didn't lose a days money.

no button but theres a link just for you ;)

County Asylums

Sad bit is I have worked in one of the asylums listed - can I repeat "worked" as opposed to "visited".

The first one (2001 manual diesel) was so bad / unreliable that I couldn't believe it wasn't a Monday morning car, so I bought the second just to make sure.
The second (a 2006 auto) put a smile on my face every day that I drove it, so I got rid and bought a FL2.

The third is reliable, quick, and has power to tow the van - things that the first never was, still gets hammered off-road, still brings a smile to my face.

Maybe I should have visited a while ?

I've visited a few. No i'm not mental. They're great places to explore when they've been abandoned. Very scary and creepy in parts. Some of my friends got some great photographs, shame i can't find them now.

Edit: Just found some of the photos on a mates old myspace.
