It's not too bad to be honest but i do think its got slightly worse the last week or so. I leave it in the train station car park all day and there will be a 4cm diameter oil stain when i get back. Its more of a nuisance than anything and the wife goes nuts about the state of our block paved drive!
well theres no sign of any oil being pushed out of the cap or the filter, there is however oil leaking from the hose that goes to the radiator. I've just got a new rad today and am going to change all the oil and coolant hoses to it when i get around to ordering them. I think the leak is just because the hose is old and cracked near where it meets the pipe which fits to the rad.
When it stops leaking top it up.
Mine went through five liters of oil a week for ages after the dorset chippy run until i fixed it, good job i had loads of free oil to be fair.
OK maybe mines not so bad. Mine hasn't needed topping up yet and i changed it 3 months ago.

i dont think he knows much about engines etc removal of filler cap when the engines running will tell you if you have excess crank case pressure

all the 4 cylinders were ,its not usually the seal but the sealing between seal and block, those ali filter housings warp eventually
What should i expect to see if i there is excess pressure? A load of oily air coming out?
I'm not hugely bothered about it and i have a drip tray on there that i try to park over. 9 times out of 10 it goes in there. It's the wife who has a problem with it. i like to give her a few things to moan about, keeps her happy!

Yes pretty much. Exhuasting/blowing out the filler cap or chuffing out of the dipstick. I dont think a little bit would be causing your problem, excessive breathing possibly.

Yes. A little vapour drifting about is normal, but a stream of vapour being forced out, or steady puffing out of bursts of vapour indicates a problem.
