Hello i am new to this forum and i have a 1996 landrover discovery 3.9 V8 that wont start ie it wont crank also no power to the fuel pump i have put a live feed to the starter motor and to the fuel pump and it will start and run fine i have changed the fuel pump relay but it is the same. Is there any other common faults that they have?

not familiar with the v8 engine but if its the same as a 300 tdi ie spyder behind radio you can buy a bypass plug for around £8 from the main dealers provided that is the problem

cant remember off top of my head but put on ignition and test wires then connect live ones to dead ones.

some of dead ones run to earth ,you need to check by continunity test from plug to starter fuel pump relay etc ,often earth for starter relay runs through too

Thats a big help i just need to know which terminals to bridge for fuel pump and starter. I guess a bit of time and patience will do it

There is now a Bypass available from L/R part number AMR4956
this replaces the alarm spider, maintaining the vehicles alarm.

Pinched from somewhere else (the link above)

See post number three on this thread on another site which shows the repair to do and post three shows how to by-pass it
