First time user of this forum, looking for some help
I have a Series II Discovery V8, left it on the drive for acouple of weeks and on return the central locking using the remote key fobwould not work.
Assumed it is a dead battery so removed the battery and rechargedit, but no Joy. All it does is when the key is in switch position II all the displaylights are lit and a alternating tone sounder bleeps for about 20 seconds (the sametone as when the hill decent button is pushed in) but the starter does not turn.
Have tried to use the EKA code to manually reset the immobilizer but the instruction says I am suppose to unlock using the key andhold the key in the unlock position for about 5s or until the alarm sounds asingle beep. Well when I do this the alarm does not sound even if I hold it fora minute. Needles to say if I go through the process of keying in the EKA codenothing happens.
Ironically, had the green flag out and whilst I was lookingfor the BL**DY code he had started the car but a day later the same thinghappened. All the man from green flag would tell me was that it started byitself.
Any advice is gratefully received
