Hi all, I have the dreaded clicking noise coming from the offside wheel when on full lock. After searching and looking at associated threads members have replied check your cv joints. What should I be looking at, what part wears and why how can I tell if it's knackered? Also I was advised to get original cv joints if I off road with larger tyres. Are there other makes I could fit instead that aren't as pricey?
Cheers fozzie.

Disco 1 does'nt have cv joints as such. It has swivel balls with a bearing top and bottom. I'd be looking at perhaps the ball itself or wheel bearings or possibly the top and bottom bearings in the ball.

Actually they do...within the swivel ball is a normal cv joint arrangement which does wear out over time and cause a clicking noise on lock.

Some of the modern pattern parts can be awful quality

Many discos go to scrap with good cvs so just pick some up second hand :)
