The quality of work seems excellent!

The only worrying thing is that the work is being completed very quickly and I think the thread will be finished very soon! :(

Don't worry about that. I have looong "TO DO" list. There will be a lot of work until summer :D

Some not common upgrades:

1) Electric water aux. heater (like some BMW's have) - it will heat coolant, so the engine will get in operating temperature faster. Now just on 12V when the starts up, but in future can be also operated on 220V in garage to preheat engine(often used behind polar circle)

2)Custom made vehicle information system - It will measure oil temp, coolant temp, cooler temp, oil pressure, outside temp, main battery voltage, secondary battery voltage, charging control, START assist function, WINCH assist function, water aux. heater control.

Most functions are already working but need some debugging in real world.

3) Second version of camping bed/storage system.

...and lot of minor upgrades.

Water heater sounds interesting.

I thought the BMW ones burned diesel?

They do when fitted to uk spec vehicles anyway, fitted to diesel X5, diesel L322 Range Rover and diesel Freelander 1, all BMW built vehicles.

Great piece of kit but tends to shock our customers when the car starts smoking from under the wheel arch :D

All x30d has Webasto. But x18d and x20d were equipped just with electric heaters. It isn't complicated. Just three glow plugs in tube and some electronic control board.

looks like your making a nice job of it

is this a rolling rebuild or have you taken it of the road to do the work?

Excellent job, very high quality body work. Impressed!

Nice, I like the electric heater, does it have circulation pump? And what is the electric current draw??

BMW unit has +-290W and no pump. It is on only when engine is running. Mine gonna have 3 glow plug, 9Amps each(maybe more). Pump shouldn't be need, water will circulate by gravity.

Top build. I wish i had the welding/fabrication skills and equipment to do this to my own discovery. Unfortunately when it comes to fixing the tinworm on mine, im going to have to pay somebody else to do it.

Really brilliant job you are doing David on that Disco bodywork - real quality.

It should last you a long, long time.

I very much like the idea of the coolant heater also. Should take some load off the engine on cold start days.

How cold does it get in your part of the world? Here in Central France we can go down to -18°C.

Log burner set to max !!!!

Pretty same I think. Winter two years ago was a bit stronger than usually. Record was -33°C. But that was exceptional :D

Absolutely great job. The quality of the work looks really good and it looks like you have got all the rust out.

Cant wait to see some more pics of the accessories you put on and also the trips you do with it. Nice one and keep it coming......

Naprosto skvělá práce.Kvalita práce vypadá opravdu dobře a vypadá to, že jste dostal všechny rez ven.

Nemůžete se dočkat nějaké další fotky z příslušenství, které položíte na a také na výlety děláte s ním. Nice one a udržet to přijde ......
