hi there , basicly now i have started a small buisness in land rovers so im now in the position to do a restoration , i did attempt 2 before but one was broken back up due to being offered silly money for parts and a second i lost interest in so it just sat for months , i do however have a good reason to finish this one so take 3 !

i was recently offered a 200tdi discovery identical to one i had 8 years ago when i was 14 , it was road legal and driven to various sites for offroading by friends and family , regrettably they were cheaper back then and it was scrapped due to rot and when it got badly damaged, ever since i have been wanting another one but 200s are somewhat rare now and never found one at a time where i was in a position to have one , so when this one came up i had to take it and swapped it for my clapped out 300tdi

plans are restoration and some upgrades such as half leather XS grey interior

rot found so far are inner wings , front headlight panel , sills , rear boot floor and all doors
its also having new doors , rear quater panels , replacing the damaged bonnet ect

ONTO THE PICS ! , slight issue when it caught fire at one point

That should keep you out of mischief for a while! :)

Looks nice and dry up there anorl, still a sea of mud down this end! ;)

im up there tomorrow if you want to bring yours up fella , other than that arrange a day sometime next week if you need some work done?

UPDATE ! :)

as the front panel was rotten in the headlamp boxes and starting to go down the inside of the body mounts i decided welding was not really an option , the whole thing had rust that was pretty steady going at eating through so decided to replace the panel , now theese panels are hideously expencive at around £350 !
due to that and some other mods i wanted to do i decided to fit a td5 one from the breaker in my profile pic !
there are a few differences , main one being the bonnet catch as you will see from first picture the tdi one has seperate catches where if you look further down they are one unit on the td5 and much closer together so there is no hole for the original, to solve this i cut apart the TDI one and welded the td5 one to the original plate , this will allow it to be bolted onto any standard bonnet in case of damage , also means i get the td5 release mechinism which is far better to use !

on with the chopping !

right quick update , been having some fun with the old girl on the ramp , thought she had pushed the clutch fork before i investigated it so i pulled off the slave cylinder to check its its clearly only been traveling half the way as half the cylinder is pure rust !

no issues methink ill fit a new master and slave cylinder from a breaker 300tdi i have in the yard ,they are different as a 200tdi has a two peice pipe setup that goes through a tag on the bulkhead and has a bolt holding it to the pedal whereas a 300 has a pin to pedal and a single pipe so much better design , all fits on fine using the pin on the pedal

3 masters and 2 slave cylinders later and it refuses to bleed ! pulling my hair out now as theres no logical reason why its not working ! only thing i can think of is perhaps a crack in the pipe but that seems unlikely too

more on this later when its finally solved , im trying to track down a master, slave and pipe that has not been seperated so i can bolt on without bleeding
