I have a discovery 200tdi K reg.
When I am slowing down for a junction or traffic lights the car will die.
It takes out the main power when it dies because the clock and also radio will lose its memory.
The only way to stop it is to rev the engine while braking until at a stand still and then it will tick over fine.
The car if it does die will start up straight away fine.
I have checked the batter leads and also alternator wires and all are OK.

Can anyone help??

This was intermittent but now happens all the time?

one goes from battery to chassis and there are a couple of engine to chassis earths as well check them all and make sure they're solid and not corroded.

Fuel solenoid stop valve would kill the engine but not the lights gauges etc. All the lives are connected to an insulated brass stud on the bulkhead next to the brake servo. You could have a look at that as well.
