My poor disco is crying out for some TLC
Watts linkage is knocking like a knocking thing, rear pads are well down and delaminating, upper front ball joint is like a dick in a shirt sleeve, rear heated screen and mirrors not working, reving on gear change, several oil leaks, oil in injector harness, slight coolant leak, and thats things I know about just walking around the disco.
God knows what else I will find when I lift her up and have a proper look :-(

On the plus side the sunroofs dont leak

Most of the jobs will not cost much money just some time I have a good secondhand watts linkage lying in the garage, the 3 amigos is more than likely a knackered wheel bearing I have a spare one, pads are cheap enough, ball joint is cheap enough, heated window wont cost anything,

Well managed to get some jobs sorted, rear pads changed, 3 amigos gone (for now) and coolant leak fixed

The 3 amigos where caused by the rear wheel bearing having play in it fortunately I had a spare front bearing so all good,
Coolant weep became a gushing leak on the way to work, it was the top hose spring clip had snapped, pinched one from the maintenance lads at work so all good,

And because I have been fixing the disco it has decided to add more jobs to the list, the intermittent wipers have become intermittent, and the clutch has started to slip a little on gearchange, its not consistant sometimes it slips sometimes it doesnt, the bitting point is at the bottom not the top, and I have a oil leak at the back of the engine the bell housing is covered in engine oil so I am hoping its just oil incress, I will pop the wading plug and hopfully see oil.

For the intermittent wipers, I would first check the operation of the stalk switches, then unfortunately it's probably into the BCU/IDM, could be a dirty relay.
The oil leak could be from the back end of cam cover gasket, probably around the little "half moon", but there is also a round rubber sealing plug on the back of the cylinder head, opposite the round plug on the front. That can leak too and apparently it's a right royal PITA to change with the head in place. First action would be a new cam cover gasket, about a fiver or so and a tube of red Hylomar to stick the gasket in place on the cam cover before you offer it up to the cylinder head.
 
Fingers crossed the clutch issue is caused by the oil leak, fix the leak and eventully the clutch should burn the oil of saves pulling the box

I will give the back of the head and block a good wash off to see where the leak is
 
well just had a quick look under the disco popped the wading plug out and as expected there is oil in there clutch cover is contaminated so hopefully once the oil leak is fixed the clutch will sort itself out looks like the oil leak is from the rocker cover
 
Well the 3 amigos have gone plugged the dianostics in and it showed a fault code for the rear O/S wheel speed sensor, when the 3 amigos came on I had driven a 200 mile trip and the brake on that wheel was running hot due to a sticky caliper, anyways cleared the fault code drien 400 miles since 3 amigos still off, dunno if it was down to the extreme heat? but when it happened I had drove 200 mile non stop brake was hot (could smell it) stopped at some traffic lights and as soon as I pulled away the 3 amigos popped on.
 
Erm, how does oil get into the clutch from the valve cover?
Won't the leak more likely be the rear main oil seal?
You may well have a valve cover leak - or a diesel leak from the regulator - but I don't see how it gets into a sealed bell housing.

And I don't think a contaminated clutch will burn off the oil :( You'll need a new clutch.
On the plus side, while you're doing the clutch you can probably replace the oil seal that is leaking. :)
