There’s no mention of anything specific in the parts book for the 300 series, other than just for the manual TDi and the other for an auto TDi have different part numbers.
For the same models in the 200 series there’s more part numbers plus the addition of a V8 with EFi.
So nothing serious it appears other than different body panels

OK My question is it cost effective to buy an old chassis, repair it hoping it does not distort after welding and its all jigged in place, remembering rust can be like and ice burg what you see may be the tip of the problem, then have it galved,

Hi having spent a hour or so looking for a new discovery 1 chassis , the fact I cant find any one refabing them and the discovery 2 is not the same size, I did find this one for you
IIRC, some time ago, @jamesmartin confirmed that the D1 and RRC were the same chassis (?) I'm pretty sure "one" can buy a new RRC chassis ....
That my friend just brought a tear to my eyeI scrapped a mint chassis & I mean mint also a rust free body with loads of new panels, I offered it for free on here as I needed the space, tis gone now. Dam shame.
That looks to have already been welded on the back end. I have discovered a one for sale on facebook market place close to me.
+1 - we have both - they certainly look the same to me. Gearbox cross member might be different - or it may just be a production difference between ours... ( any one know ? )

using the search function I have found every answer from they are impossible, to they fit no bother. I think the only way is to actually try it for myself
Been watching the channel for the past few hours, it seems as you say it is on the 2 rear mounts that need a 2 inch bobbin spacer in to make up the difference in height, but nothing needs moved. Happy days
