Hi guys i apologies if this has been done a thousand times but im having problems with my d2 After being parked up for a week it will not start it did start and ran very badly for about 10 seconds then cut out and has not ran since it was running perfect before being parked up ive checked the injector harness not a drop of oil no signs of any wiring faults any where the sunroof has been leaking but no sign of water in anything under the dash the fuel pump is working engine turns over well its had a new fuel filter then a friend pluged it in his computer and it came up with electrical faults on almost everything as i said it was running perfect before im now stumped i would appreciate any help and many thanks in advance

With so many fault codes for things that you say were working previously suggests it is an electrical issue. What voltage are you getting at the battery? Any loose earths visible?

I Haven't tested the voltage but it takes a lot of cranking before it goes flat and I cant see any bad earths and although it has come up with the faults every thing apart from the engine still works I forgot to mention it's has the three amegos ont the dash due to a failing abs pump but they was there a month or so before it stopped running and I've changed the front bumper so unplugged the fog lights but can't see these making any difference

are you sure you havent got water ingress in the ecu, leaking sunroofs!!!
that would explain all the electrical faults.

I decided after reading several posts about bcu' to have a look and found it was very slitly damp on the back of the circuit board and when shining a torchlight on it there was traces of white powder where water has trickled down it and around some of the solder joints do you think this could be the problem

Yes could well be. Find the leak and fix that, dry thr BCU on a radiator and try again.get the fault codes cleared and if it won't start list the fault codes that have returned.
Also on these the starter can go faulty and although cranking ok they generate enough EMF too corrupt the cranking signal hence the injectors don't fire.

In a word, yes for the electrical faults.

It shouldn't stop it turning over though, have you tried purging the fuel rail? Turn the key to ignition 2 only, stamp on the throttle repeatedly until the MIL lamp flashes on and off, this will push fuel through the head for a few minutes hopefully bleeding any air out (could be that the air bleed valve in your filter head has failed, or you could have duff injector seals/washers). If it seems to catch but still doesn't start, hold your foot on the throttle for 10 seconds whilst cranking, the ECU will throw a load more fuel in....

Get someone to check the exhaust to see if diesel is being expelled - should be strong acrid smell and sting eyes... (obviously don't stand there too long lol!)

I've Tryed purging it several times with no joy I wiilldry it out put it all back together at the weekend and try again hopefully this will solve it Thanks for the advice everyone I will let you know how it goes.

I've put everything back together and again no joy so armed with a little more info I went back to the injector harness and found oil has found its way to the ecu so new harness in the post not shaw how I missed it the first time. Hopefully this is it im starting to wear the buttons out on my keyboard that spell discovery 2. If this works the next stop is the abs pump. landys really are a bottomless pit Ive not had one yet that didn't need a shed full of spares to keep it on the road or is this just me buying duffers.

ive decided this is now beyond my mechanical skills and taken my disco to let somebody ells have a go and they have found there is no power to the injectors and they are unsure why and said I may need a new ecu does any body know of any thing ells that can cause this I don't wont to waist more money on a ecu that isn't broken also the gearbox ecu is saying it is in neutral and the engine ecu is saying its in drive

cheers

The Injectors can be test fired by nanocom, try locate someone on here close by who has nanocom or another diagnostic that can do that.

I assume you've checked all the main fuses in the engine bay fusebox?

all the fuses and relays have been pulled and checked and its been plugged in and checked but still nothing
