It would pass mot as long as brakes work and don't leak!

So yes it would!

Good luck dropping the motor in mate! :D

If it wont go in its not lined up ;) mine was out by 2mm max and it wouldn't go in no matter how much wiggling etc

Best to use an old input shaft I found

Yeah even when mines perfectly lined up its a ####, took nearly an hour last time I did mine but that was with basic alignment tool which will have been slightly out, whereas box out other day it more or less slotted straight in!

I reckon it'd be easier if he slotted gearbox to engine instead of engine to box :p least you can hold a gearbox on your own

well... I waited until my old man came back as he has done it a couple times, we checked the clutch, all was good.
I think the issue was getting the engine lined up good, ended up pulling together with some threaded bar (a long bolt basically) was the last 10mm that was the basterd! still took an hour n half to get a few bolts done up and engine sitting on the mounts.

Its easier to do it the other way round :p with no transfer box on the back and engine on mounts you can just lift the box into the engine ;)

Least it went in though!

On another note I started making the raised shock mounts (+7), they are made from 8mm plate to mount on the original point's with a 1" 3mm box to raise the new mount (16mm bolt) to fit the new shocks, also made the adaptor from eye to pin for the axle end.
while the disco was on the drive I jumped on the tray and got wiggling! Land Rover Disco trailing arms - YouTube
new arms seem ok!

Oh also ordered my new break lines, braided with clear coating, rear is going down the A frame and the fronts down the Radius arms! £101 all in.
the fronts are in 2 parts so the more vulnerable bits can be replaced with out having to do the entire line, and also they are identical! so I can carry 1 spare!

No idea, I'd just remove all pipes and bleeds and see what is connected to what, they work out which nipple to connect to where!

my new brake lines will be delivered tomorrow! wow thats fast! 48h to get custom lines made & delivered! the proof is in the pudding mind you :)

just spoke to Neil @ Off Road coil springs about getting some long ass springs made up, he gestimated about 150 for 2, which i think isn't to bad!

So do I go for custom springs and have to make new spring seats, or X-Springs and have about 1/3 the force from the spring at max articulation...

I was going to aim for about 150 ftlb/inch for the custom springs, or is that a bit too soft?

Both are about the same price btw

The new lines arrived, you can see 2 have joins and 90deg bends in the ends that go in the callipers.
