I'm a complete novice but would appreciate some guidance. Internal heating on my Disco Td5 seems to fluctuate? Left it on max heat, but after few minutes starts to blow cool air, then back to really warm for a while? Engine temp seems to remain normal, although fan seems to remain on for longer than usual after engine off? Coolant seems level as weel, and no visable leaking fluids. Any thoughts? - Johann

you could have air in the system. try running it at idle while topping up with water. and don't put cold water into a hot engine.

Thanks slob, will give it a try - have also read somewhere on www that it could be that thermostat is stuck (open)?

generally if its stuck open it will take longer for the engine to get hot, and you wouldn't have any heat. you say that you have heat sometimes so i don't think its yer thermo. i'd say you either have a blockage or an air bubble in the system
