Hi there, I bought a LR discovery 1994 2.0 mpi ( I know big mistake buying the land rover with the rover engine).

I have got it to run, but it runs quite rough and when you put your foot on the accelerator it sputters and has no power. It really struggles to move unless your heading downhill. I have changed the spark plugs, the battery, the alternator and the fuel filter. The weird thing is it ran fine two days ago, I managed to drive it a fair distance without any faults. Well until the transfer box gear linkage shattered. I fixed it and it seems to be running rough again. Could it be the fuel pump? or a faulty sensor?

Rotor arm resistor known issue
also ecu map sensor in ecu on 800 used to fail from petrol contamination

"Rotor arm resistor known issue" would you believe it, a resistor. I had the problem in my Rover company car days, so a long while ago :(

The discovery I have does not have a rotor arm, as it doesn't have a distributor, It has electronic fuel injection with an ECU.
