Apologies if this seems a silly question but are the alloy wheel nut covers on the Disco II meant to come off? I've just broken 2 of those silly plastic nut cover removal tools and ended up having to take a screwdriver to them destroying them in the process - on the advice of a land rover servicing dept. replacement cost £1.70 each. Do Disco owners really have to pay £34 for these things every time the need to get the wheels off or is there another way I dont yet know about?
Any advice welcomed thanks

The only covers that can be removed are the ones shown above for the plastic tool is provided although sometimes they can be pulled off by hand.

If i am reading your post correctly, you have been trying to remove the cover from ALL your wheel nuts, destroying them in the process, then buying new locking wheel nut covers for ALL of them:eek::doh:

I leave mine on. The wheel brace seems to fit nicely over them and never slips when i remove the nuts.
Only the cover for the locking nut comes off on mine.
