unless the old lift pump was wrong I've got the correct one as replaced it with same.

Are you running it on veg? is there plenty of fuel in there?

double check you connected pipes right way round on lift pump as may only be running on fuel whats in fuel filter
just a thought as id made the same mistake and for the sake of 10 mins work got to be worth a try
