Right before I start looking tomorrow what do you think the cause of the brakes juddering in the Disco 300tdi non ABS is?

When braking at any speed except very slow, you can feel them almost biting then releasing very quickly, the pedal dips and raises slightly with it, and you can feel it through the car.

I suspect its a warped disc, although it shouldn't be as these are relativly new and would it not squeal?

Any other thoughts before I start taking wheels off?

warping is all i can think of unless theres some kind of fault in the lines or servo which means pressure isn't constant but that s just a guess???

Sounds very much like a warped disc.

Squeeling is usually generated from either the friction of the pads on the disc or the pads and shims vibrating at high frequency and rubbing against one another (hence the use of high heat resistance grease, like copper grease on the shims)

Sounds identicle to what i had - i found it to be the bearings gone on one of the front wheels, which resulted in the hub being out of centre, and therefore was rubbing against the caliper every now and then....

Could be wrong....but thats what happned to mine one day!

If your doing your disks, you might as well do the bearings as well. IMO anyway...

Good luck!
