Hi, I may have a chance to upgrade to a Disco 3 for a good price.
I am very happy with my D2 and feel happy with it at the minute, but the chance to go up to a 3 is so so tempting.
I am just a bit worried about REAL maintenance costs, should I be? Are they more scary than a Disco 2?

And if all looks good, my D2 needs to be sold for £2500. Very sad to see it go, maybe I can sell it to the Mrs, is that allowed? ?!!!

:)

havent met anyone who regretted moving up to 3 from 2 but as with more complication comes greater costs if things go wrong

135k. Had it for 2 years. MOT December. Epson green. Good condition, mark here and there. All oils done, new fan, drop links, arb bushes, discs and pads, snorkel. Great family vehicle.

D3's are great vehicles but do have their issues as does any LzR.
Get it thoroughly checked over.
If you can afford it, do it!

It is looking possible but I must get £2500 for my td5 for it to be achieved. I think I should get that looking at the price/condition of others around. Wish I could have both, actually making me a bit sad it has to go!

Hi I have a disco 2 and my son had a disco3,I have had all the usual problems with my disco 2 but have always managed to either fix it myself or get it repaired at a local garage for a reasonable price. Now to my sons disco3 firstly its the best car in its class I have ever driven its Smooth,Very comfy, and more than enough power.BUT he was for ever getting niggly electrical problems that are so complicated that he was for ever paying out for expensive repairs, tyre wear is not great and it is a bit heavy on fuel.Saying all that if I won the lottery I would go straight out and buy a disco 3 its a lovely car but you need deep pockets if anything goes wrong when you drive a disco 2 then a disco 3 its like going from a tractor to a luxury car

Good luck

If I was to buy a D3 I would only want the top spec HSE unless it was an SE with lots of extras.
If you're on a tight budget I wouldn't buy one, you need to make sure you have a grand or 2 to spare on repairs with a D3 IMO.....

Are Landys just that well documented we hear about all the issues? Can't be as bad as Toyota as they get on the 6 o'clock news!!!!

It is a 2005 hse. Just passed an MOT.

Just be aware just coz it's got it's years ticket, it doesn't mean anything can't go wrong !

Prepare yourself for repair bills, touch wood it will all be OK and it'll be a joy to own, but worst case sinario you won't be taken by surprise :)

I really don't wont to put a damper on what should be a exciting experiance but if its a 2005 then its a very early model so please make sure everything is working and it has a good service history if its a good one you will love it

It is basically a friend of a friends D3. Probably had an easy ish life with school runs, shopping, holidays etc.
Not looked at it yet, hopefully next couple of days. Just wants another trade in valuation!
