Hi everyone,

Firstly thanks so much to everyone on this forum, so much knowledge that has helped me a lot so far in fixing all the lil disco problems I have had so faR. Luckily not so many so far after two years of owning itโ€ฆ.. now I am having a problem with the doors locks, can't open any of the doors other that the drivers.

I know there are many posts with other discos having pretty much the same issue, and after trying a lot of the things I have seen around, I am giving this thread a go and see if anyone can help me with a couple of doubts I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Apologies if they have been discussed before.

The problem as follows, after a couple of weeks when the car was sitting in the driveway, I try to open it with the fob and it would not work, I could see that the alarm system was being deactivated when I pressed the button on the fob, but nothing happened on the door locks.
I can only open the driver's door manually with the key, the rest won't open from the inside or the outside, not with the fob not with the dash button, at the beginning the dash button seemed to make a noise, and wanted to open the doors, but after a while, I cannot hear any more noise, is dead.

I noticed moisture inside the fusebox compartment, so I checked the fuses etc, removed the board, and cleaned it, but it didn't sort out the problem. Might be worth mentioning that the signal lights are not fully working eitherโ€ฆ.. I have seen some people relating this problem to moisture on the fusebox.

Apart from that I kind of dismiss problems with kea code, superlock etc as I can open start and drive the car, maybe Im wrong and should look somewhere around as well?

Now, I want to check and clean the bcu and or remove the door actuators, (probs starting from the tail one ) but I cannot open the bloody doors so there is no way to access them from the inside. Is there any way to force them open, break in maybe? I have tried old-style clothe hangers but nothing.

Please help :)

Hi, for the central locking check fuse F1 in the interior fusbox but not just visually make sure it has power on it both sides(you can measure on the small exposed metal pins in situ) ... as about
Might be worth mentioning that the signal lights are not fully working either
explain that better, what's the symptom

anyway, to cut a long story short the best would be to replace the fusebox with a 100% good one before chasing other more complicated issues

Thanks for the quick reply @sierrafery. You mean the fuse itself or the circuit board?in any case Ill check and replace that fuse and report back.

For the signals, they have been intermittently fully working, as now, when I push the paddle I can see the indicator lighting and flashing on the dashboard but not on the outside ones.

Another thing I noticed is a B (instead of the actual gear I was in) displayed on the dashboard, I have seen that this as related issue to the fusebox on some cases too.

This was the state of the back of the fusebox before cleaning.

Not the part number is important cos there are supersessions for the same type, it must come from same modell like your's(facelift or not) cos there are some differencies.

will that be the only difference? Facelift or not?
That's what i said, there si a slight difference between early and late faceifts but not noticeable in functionality while facelift will not work well on non-facelift nor vice-versa... you can see here which P/Ns are for facelifts and which are not IDM p/n

When you get to swap it disconnect battery before unplugging anything(actually never unplug/plug back any electrical connector on the D2 with battery connected) then after the swap and battery reconnection turn ignition on and let it so 5 minutes before you crank it or do anything else cos the IDM must gain digital data comms with the BCU first or it can end up immobilised

Cant really see if thats the part number, on the box cover.

It looks like the inmobiliser has kicked in now. I was pulling out the fusebox without removing the battery, I didn't pull any connector whatsoever but maybe some cable moved or disconnect a bit. ๐Ÿ˜“

That fusebox was hurt by water ingress based on the pic in post #4 and an immobilisation was quite imminent regardless of your actions(post #5) so replace it with a good one following the procedure(post #12). Good luck

A bit of progress report. Bought and fit the new fusebox, and I can open and start the car, the immobilizer seems to work, and when I press the key from the outside, the light inside and alarm system work.
However, the central locking is not working, again when I press the dash unlock door button, seems to want to open the doors (as I can hear the noise) but nothing happens.

Whats my next move? Do you have any idea of what I could do after @sierrafery

Million thanks for all the help
