No idea, but keep us posetd as have thought about this mod before, though I did look into the 113 plus its auto trans and an adaptor plate to the lt230.
 
Maybe @blue beasty can move this.

But I would think the HP22 would be borderline and the HP24 would manage depending on engine tune.
Think the LT230 would actually cope with loads more:)

Why bother with the internal change?

The C1 and C2 one way clutch, the hp24's one is stronger, also the larger A clutch and a stronger planet set.

All makes for an almost unburstable trans, the unit in your 400hp 630r is a bone stock 4hp24 with a different TCM tune and the larger converter from the early 4.6.. :)

As I said why bother with the internal change? Just fit the whole box of an HP24?

Ahh i get what you're saying, nah no reason not to fit a 4hp24..

Except the LT230 won’t fit on the back without some fettling:).

Fitting the suggested engine and box would only mean an adaptor for the transfer box;). Plus all the electrickery bit would all match.
Would the Mercedes’ talk to the ZF as LR does

I can see lots of homework needed as to which would be easier:).

Interesting though and I would image the OPs head is now spinning:D.

Not really goven it much thought. ;)

No idea why the Merc V8 is even being considered.. ;)
