Hi guys. Not been on here for a while found myself with two landies. Again lol
Anyway. I have a 1998 disco 1 300 auto. With abs. I’ve rebuilt it. And happy. But. Cannot bleed brakes. Right I’ll explain
New genuine master cylinder. Tested with separate pipes I have hood pedal. Ive blead brakes with Easy blead. And two man. I have fluid coming out of 4 wheels. But. Pedal goes to floor. Tried with abs disconnected. Connected with engine running. Also with negative disconnected
Ive done some phoning around. I poss need to get. Lynx. And plug in and rattle abs valves. And bleed through. Im in shrewsbury. And anyone with info on getting cheaper software would be appreciated. As I would love it on the road. Thanks. Allan

I’m sorry. Not been on here for a while. Extremely busy. And when I went on here it’s plastered with poxy adverts. So annoying and you haven’t helped. Thanks

Don't worry, always the odd hand shandy kidd on a forum wishing that they were a moderator. :)

Stupid question, have you another master and slave cylinder to try?
I have had new ones fail (other vehicles).
Or a pin hole weep on the pipes ?

Wind yer neck in ...

Try a pressure bleed system ...

Whereas actual moderators wish people would make an effort to post in something approximating a relevant section...they're more likely to get the help they need anorl.

hi I’ve bought a genuine master cylinder over 200 quid. Made ends. To bleed just master. And I have good pressure on it.

As a mod on another forum, I totally agree.
But, a few on here are way too quick to jump on someone for making an honest mistake.
Far better to report an offending post so as a mod/admin can move it to the relevant sub forum.

It's always an issue with the written word, you can not see the facial expression of the person writing it.

I'm only ever on my phone, maybe use an ad blocker if they're too bad or pay a small sub to become a full member, I can't remember the last time I saw an ad here.

Have you checked your flexis for ballooning?

Yes sounds like doing. Become a full member as most of the pages are ads. All brake flexi,s. Are new. No ballooning. I was told by mc Donald 4x4. Near ish to me that I need to plug in. And use lynx to work abs valves. Release air. Just wondering if anyone had ever done that with another operating system.

Sorry can't help, I've never even worked out how to plug my Series in

Hi, the D1's wabco modulator doesnt need electronic power bleed like the wabco D unit on D2 which has that function in the diagnostic tool's menu, if it was that it should have been mentioned in the bleeding procedure described in the workshop manual and it's not so even if you plug in proper scanner you'll not find the power bleed option in it. While a modulator which has expansion chambers in it is involved you can't expect a rock solid pedal like on non ABS systems, important is to have good braking action/distance, IMO if everything else was ruled out it's possible that there is still some air left in the pipes, or there is a leak in the servo unit or the new master cylinder was DOA. Better read the wsm and do the bleeding procedure exactly as in the book

When one has an interest in members ongoing projects and how they repair and customise their vehicles it becomes a tad annoying when there is a constant list of questions on a section that clearly asks not to post them.
I have no wish to moderate but get peed off with people not giving more of a crap than what ‘they’ want. Usually with no other input than wanting free info.
;)

Im sorry I dont understand. I just wanted a bit of advice. If anyone had this problem before. I have helped people before. And. Gone well out of my way to help others. In the past. I am currently away in my camper and am really struggling to even get on this site time to time. And I have been doing cars all my life busses lorries ect ect. I know what is wrong I explained if. Anyone could read the bloody thing. It needs to be blead by pulsing the abs. Valves. I have spoken to a reputable landy garage. Thought I could save myself. Over 300 quid. But I only get. ****. On here. Well I haven’t missed it. So. That’s it. Oh yeah by the way I have tried every thing in the Haynes manual and landrover one.

Seems that you missed my reply where i was trying to help and explained you something .

So do you think that those who wrote the LR workshop manuals didnt know what your reputable landy specialist said with "pulsing the valves" cos that;s not mentioned there or those who made the diagnostic tools missed that option in the D1's ABS menu?

However. if you are convinced that "pulsing the valves" is the cure for your problem and you are handy enough with electrics to improvise a wire with a switch and energise the pins at the modulator's plug on the wires which are coming from the ABS ECU i can tell you how to "pulse the valves" for each wheel by energising the solenoids through that switch and that's what the diagnostc tool does too on the circuit tests which is the only option in the ABS diagnostic menu for the D1's wabco C modulator. I'm still thinking that if that was the case it should be a "modulator bleed" or "power bleed" option for D1 which would energise the return pump too together with the valves as it happens for the D2's wabco D modulator but no diagnostic tool can do that for D1.

So let me know if you are up to do that improvisation and i'll tell you exactly where to splice in with it.

Point taken.
But, there does seem to be a fair bit of abuse here to people who have made a genuine mistake with where they have posted their thread:(
As for asking/giving advice, hopefully once project Noel is complete, I can stop asking questions/for help/advice and give guidance to a new set of newbies in the position I currently am. :)
I don't blame you for not wanting to moderate, it's a thankless task!

Hi. Sorry for a bit of a rant. But yes exactly. I’ve tried everything. And most of the system is new or been checked. I’ve tried separate. Parts of the system too even bleeding from abs block. Thankyou. Its really frustrating atm.
