Hello there. I'm new to not only this site but to Disco's as well. I've always wanted one but only now have they just come into my running costs price range.

A quick question this is, but despite looking to Mr Haynes and also on this site, i can't find the answer...

My question is, where do the sunroof drain pipes come out of at the bottom end?

I have just the one sunroof fitted (manual) above the front passenger seats.

The reson i ask is that my sunroof leaks into and onto the front seats and rather than spend hours removing the headlining and airline the pipes from the top, i thought i would push air in from the bottom?

Your thoughts or ideas would be most welcomed and... despite everything, despite every worry my Landy has caused me to date, i love her.

P.s. and the wife too but she could do without the marking of the drive!!!

Best Regards to you all.

Which can be the same as my old V12 jaguar!!

But seriously the leak is rarely IMHO a blockage, it is normaly the pipes not glues to the sunroof drain. By all means try but you normaly end up with the headlining out.

Thanks to: Dave 2000

I was really not hopeing that the headlining would have to come out as i'm very new to Land Rovers. But needs must so i will get round to it. It only leaks during heavy rain and only then when arse end down so in the meantime i must point it nose end down...

Thanks for time in this matter, even if it means a headlining out.

Best Regards to you all.

My Disco has two of the bloody holes in the roof type things, the front hole leaked like a gud un but I soon found an easy fix, when you close the hole the handle clicks and stops turning, press the button and turn it a bit more, then return the handle to the middle. Worked for me.

Lots of info on the Forum for leaking sunroofs so do a search, but clean the sunroof to glass seal and then coat with Vaseline if that dosen't work replace the seal, or if it's the body to sunroof seal the then use a sealent around the external frame or remove the whole unit and then renew the seal that way.

Thanks discool. Honest, i did search before posting but just could not find the answer to the question asked. Thanks for yours and others time in this matter. With this leaking sunroof and what i think is a leaking sump i have my work cut out. Best Regards to you all. Andy.

The drain pipes exit down the A post u may be able to see the end but I can't on my disco.
At the rear they are behind the rear lower valance and behind the the mudflap u can see the end, so lay down and with a torch look up.

That, I hope answers your question :)

Ive not seen a Disco with only one sunroof. Usually there is either two or none, depending on model.
Is this an aftermarket roof? Or are there variations out there I havent seen yet?
If it's an aftermarket that's fitted, there is a chance that there arent any drain pipes.
Dont take this as an absolute though.
