Got a puncture on my disco yesterday and whilst I was changing the wheel over I discovered my front axle is in a bit of a sorry state.

Both swivel balls are badly pitted and the front diff has nigh on 30 degrees play at the propshaft flange, no wonder the things been clunking every time you come on and off the power. I'll settle for a pair of good diffs but think it would probably be easier to change out the whole front axle. The rear diff also has significant play and is whining loudly so either needs replacing or refurbing as well.

Check out your drive flanges at the front for wear aswell as your cvs

Better to replace worn parts than buy and fit and axle blind

I have swivel balls and flanges available for sale of course :p

Hi
Got both complete axles still on car, was a runner / driver and taken off road due to rusty floor due to unknown leaky sunroof.
Drove fine with no not clunks noises etc at both ends.
Both axles can be removed no probs ........no discs or calipers as keeping those for project.
Location newark on Trent near notts.
Any good ?? Don't know what worth to you ?
Cheers

I've got a full front axle set up on good condition and rear axle which is missing the diff and drive shafts.
From a 300tdi disco.
