Hi Everyone
The direction indicators on my 1998 P38 4.6 HSE cancel before the turn is completed. Anyone any ideas how to rectify this annoying problem. Any help would be most appreciated

Is it the arm thats moving back before the turn is completed, or is it they stop working before that happens?

Hi Dopey

As you suggested its the arm moving back before the turn is completed. Have you any suggestions for rectifying this.

Hi Sirus

Thanks for the suggestion.
I have tried holding the stalk whilst making the turn and then letting go which did appeared to work but now I am unable to indicate a right turn unless I force the stalk in that direction and forceably hold it in position. I guess I need to remove the plastic surrounds in order to see whats going on. Anyone know is this is an simple job.

change the indicator stalk. should not be that hard just match the wires up

I removed the stalk and found that one of the cams which cancel the direction against a pin on the steering column had over shot the return spring. I pushed the cam back into position where it should have been and bingo everything works as it should do. One multi plug connects all the wiring. Makes a change to repair something without spending a fortune. Thanks again for your help
